This week’s featured piece of gear is the TC Electronics PolyTune3! Introduced in 2010 and becoming an industry favourite over the past decade, this pedal includes polyphonic tuning, which lets you tune all your strings at once. It even automatically switches between polyphonic and monophonic tuning modes based on how many strings you play! Depending on your needs, you can choose polyphonic for tuning all strings with one strum (ideal in live performance settings), chromatic for more precision with 0.5 cent accuracy, or strobe for the ultimate in precision with ±0.02 cent accuracy.

The PolyTune3 comes with built-in all-analog Bonafide Buffer circuitry which preserves your tone through long cable runs and convoluted pedal boards – while guitarists can still switch between true bypass and buffer modes depending on their own personal preference. “Always on” tuning mode keeps tuner on and detecting even when not muted, and super-bright 109-LED display and an ambient light detector provide an instant clear readout whether you’re on a brightly lit stage or in the low-light chill of your rehearsal space.

Check out the first video below for a demo on how the original PolyTune tunes, and check below that for a demo on the features specific to the PolyTune3!!
